Since I am on the lookout for a new dog, I thought that the best way to find out if a dog is really what I need would be to dog sit for my friend Michelle. She has a couple of Husky pups that are only a few weeks old, but she will be leaving them for a few days with me while she is away on business. Since I know nothing about Huskies, I decided that I would do a little research before I was left in charge of her puppies.
I combed the internet for a site that would be a resource for Husky owners, and I found myself at Spoiled Husky, a blog that spoke about experiences with Siberian Huskies. Inside the site, I learned about how to deal with their behavior, what to feed them, and really what to expect as an owner of these types of dogs. It really helped to give me some insight into what to expect when I am going to be dog sitting, and I feel a lot more confident that I will be able to handle my role with the dogs.
Over the course of the next week I will be spending some time with the puppies so that they get used to me before Michelle goes away. I am hoping that everything goes well while they are in my care – wish me luck!
