It has been years since I have been in the seat of a go-cart, but that is all going to change this weekend.  My nephew, Michael, is turning eleven, and he is having a go-karting party that I happened to be invited to.  I have always thought that I was his favourite uncle, and having the opportunity to engage in some friendly competition has always been appealing to me.

I think that we are going to have a lot of fun.

I know that my sister-in-law was able to find a place that had indoor karting Manchester at the last minute.  Michael couldn’t decide exactly what he wanted to do for his birthday, but after a bit of convincing by my brother, he decided that going to drive around go-carts with his buddies would be fun.  I would have loved to have a birthday party like that when I was his age, but we didn’t have anything like that in the town where I grew up.

From what I understand, we’ll get twenty minutes of exclusive time on the track, then we’ll head over to the party room for cake and refreshments. here will be a photo-op for the top three drivers as they have a podium where we can take pictures.

Though the party will be short, it is going to be a blast.  I can’t wait until the weekend!
