Over the weekend I spent a day at my brother’s house with my nephews. I have been going down there over the Easter weekend the last couple of years and it is a great time to hang out with my younger brother and his kids. We always have a lot of fun together, and I wish I could make it down there more often. Instead of lamenting over the time that we can’t spend together, I will be thankful for what time we do have.
The weekend started out like any other and we did a lot of visiting and catching up. Michael was really excited to show me the renovations that they had done in their home. They had renovated most of their home, but the real “crown jewel” of his home was the living room.
The transformation was amazing.
What really blew my mind was that he did almost everything on his own. The only work that he didn’t do was contracted out to a company that specialized in replacement windows in Los Angeles. He was smart enough to know that if he didn’t know how to do something that he was better off hiring a professional.
Michael is getting a lot “wiser” in his old age.
While the rest of the weekend was fun, I can’t stop thinking about how my brother’s house has been transformed from a worn out shack to a lovely home. I am really proud of the work that he has done.
