When I bought my home a few years ago, I knew that there was going to be work that I had to do to restore this home to its’ former glory. It was a character home that had been neglected for far too long, and the years had not been too kind to her. But I knew that I had to do the repairs and upkeep in steps as I had a limited budget to get everything done, so I worked on one thing at a time.
After finishing the roof last year, I had planned to do the windows this year. They were bad for letting the cold in at certain times of the year, and there were days where you could see the dust coming in through the windows even though they weren’t open. I knew that I was losing a lot of money since these windows were far from being energy efficient, and I really wanted to do something about it.
I have a company coming out this week to change the windows to uPVC windows. These energy efficient windows will keep the elements out so I will no longer have to worry about drafts coming in from the windows or the excess build-up of dust.
I can’t wait to see what kind of difference these new windows will make.
