Since I moved to my new home I have had nothing but problems with my internet. Working with a new internet service provider is always a bit of a gamble, but since all of my neighbors in the area were not having troubles, I had to put my head down and figure out what was going on.
I was a little frustrated.
But I knew that I could figure out the issues if I just worked through the problem and eliminate everything it could be to figure out the solution.
So, I got to work.
I started things off like anyone would fixing a connection problem – I unplugged the router and modem and plugged them back in. They took a little longer than I thought they would to fire back up, but once all of the lights were back on, I tried my laptop again.
With those two pieces of hardware eliminated, I moved on to making sure I was connecting to the right network. Just to make sure that I was connecting to the right provider, I used the IP lookup tool from IPAlf.com.
Right away I could see there was a problem. According to the information provided by the site, I wasn’t connecting to my ISP – I was connecting to another one instead.
Digging a little deeper, I found that my computer was setup to connect to the open Wi-Fi of my neighbor instead of my own router. Since the signal from the open network was weak, I was disconnecting from the internet a lot of the time.
All it took was to change a couple of settings on my computer and now it looks like the internet is working like it should. I am happy that I finally was able to sort out my internet issues.
As the seasons change, I like to change the decor in my home. I have done this for a couple of years now, and I love it. Not only do I get to enjoy a fresh look as the seasons change, but it really feels like I am in a new home.
I love it.
The first few years that I tried to change the decor of my home went well except when it came to the furniture. It is a little harder to change the look of your couch and recliners when most models are not meant to be changed at all. At the time, I decided that I would shop around and find some furniture that would be easier to give a little facelift whenever I felt like it.
It wasn’t until I discovered Four Seasons Furniture that I found my solution. They sell slipcovered furniture that makes it easy to change whenever you feel like it. I love how I can just switch slipcovers easily and give my furniture a whole new look.
Whether you want to change the look of the furniture in your home or cottage, Four Seasons Furniture carries the perfect slipcovered furniture that makes it easy to change the look of the decor in your room. With my string of bad luck lately, I was hoping that the rest of this week would go well. But low and behold, things didn’t follow my plan and I found myself at the dentist this morning to fix a broken tooth.
What a great way to start the week.
You see, last night after supper, I decided to have a mint. Since I quit smoking a few years ago, I have been downing mints like they are candy, which means that I have good breath just about all the time. But the catch is that I chew these hard mints.
Which is a bad thing.
You see, I was chewing on some mints there after supper and bit down on one the wrong way so that one of my molars broke. Specifically, the corner broke off, so at least the tooth was salvageable, but it hurt.
It hurt a lot.
So, I am going in to the dentist this morning to get it fixed. I am hoping that it won’t cost a lot.
Wish me luck.
It seems like it was years ago that I was looking forward to going to the prom. At the time I was an awkward young man who had the whole world ahead of him. I remember what a fuss my parents made when it came to what I was going to wear for that night and for my date with Erin Hislop. I was nervous and stressed because of what that one night was going to do to define my life.
And I have not thought about prom since. At least not until tonight.
I was over having Sunday supper at my aunt and uncles house. My cousin, Melissa, was talking about prom and everything she needed to do to get ready for the big night. She showed me her scrapbook of dresses that she had picked out as well as different hairstyles for prom. She wanted my opinion and input as to what look would be perfect for her prom night.
As I sat there and tried to figure out some great wisdom about prom night that I could share with her, I’m sure that I had a blank look on my face. I am a guy after all, so what do I know about prom night from a woman’s perspective.
I’m not saying that I didn’t offer her any kind of tidbits of wisdom or insight into the experiences that I had during my prom night, but I don’t think I was really the person who could give her direction she needed for the biggest night of her life. I think she appreciated my candor and honesty, and I know that she will make the right choice as to how she is going to look for her prom.
It was just funny how her current interests made me look back to one of my best memories (and dates) for many years ago.
While many of my friends like to hold out until December to decorate the Christmas tree, my view of the matter is slightly different. I really feel that the longer you leave your Christmas tree out the better. Sure, I don’t like to decorate the tree right after Halloween, but late November is all right in my books.
I used to decorate the tree on my own, but now I enlist my nieces and nephew to help me out. We usually make a weekend out of it, but this year it’s going to be a little different. I don’t have as much free time as I used to thanks to the new job that I took a few months ago, so we will have to do it tomorrow night.
It will still be fun, but it will just have to become a different tradition. I am sure that things will change again once I have my own children but I’m thinking that I won’t have to worry about that for a while.
I hope that we will be able to get my place decorated in the little time that we will have. It will really make it feel a lot more like Christmas in here.
When it comes to creating marketing art for my online business, I have been really struggling. My art skills are the same as a four year old, and any artwork that I have made on my own for any of my projects has looked very pathetic.
And it hasn’t converted well either.
While I could outsource the work, I wanted to keep my expenses down as I am just starting out. I would rather put some money in my pocket than spend money I don’t have.
There had to be a solution.
So, I decided to take a look online. I wanted software that would allow me to make eye-catching marketing graphics without having to be a graphic artist. It had to be easy to use, and something I could afford.
That is when I discovered a review over at ClicktoReviews.com:
that showcased some new marketing graphic software, MoonPixlar. Not only was it exactly what I needed, but it fit my budget. I loved that it could work for so many things including Facebook ads, website headers, advertisements, flyers, infographics and more. Really the uses for the software are endless, and I have found it really easy to pick it up and run with it – without having to read a complicated manual.
To learn more about MoonPixlar and how you can use it to create some professional graphics with just a few clicks, I would suggest reading this in-depth review here: http://www.clicktoreviews.com/the-incredible-marketing-graphic-designing-software/
A few buddies and I decided to go for a road trip this weekend to Downriver, Michigan. We have some family down there (so that we can stay for free), which makes the trip rather inexpensive as gas is so cheap right now. We packed everyone up in the car and headed down to Michigan on Friday.
The trip was going to be a blast.
In fact, I was just about going to rate our trip as the best one that we have ever had, but everything screeched to a halt yesterday. I don’t know what happened, but the Mercedes Benz we were driving ended up being dead on the side of the road.
It wasn’t what any of us wanted. Being in a place that we were not too familiar with, we had to get on our phones and see if we could find a place that did Mercedes Benz repair in Downriver Michigan.
I’ll admit, I was a little stressed out.
But we were able to find a service station that was open and was willing to help us out. They even arranged for a tow truck, so though it was stressful having a major breakdown like this, at least it felt like we were going to be able to get back on the road.
In fact, once the car was in the shop, it didn’t take them long to fix it. We should be back on the road later today, and while having a car that needed to be repaired wasn’t what we were expecting, at least the trip was still fun.
One of the things I love about winter is the opportunity to go ice fishing. Sitting in a ice shack for the better part of the day is very relaxing for me. I’m still young, so the cold doesn’t bother me that much. Realistically, as long as you dress properly the cold shouldn’t bother you at all.
This weekend I will be taking my nephew, Jaxon, on his first fishing trip. He has been asking me for the last few years but he was little too young so I didn’t feel comfortable being responsible for him. I was even able to find the perfect sized ice fishing rod which I gave him on his birthday week ago.
I think we are both pretty excited about the weekend. I hope for his sake that we catch something.
Wish us luck!
One of the dreaded things for every car owner would be when it breaks down. I know that I am sure that I roll my eyes every time that there is a problem with it.
It usually ends up costing a lot.
I don’t know what happened this time, but I was driving down the freeway, some lights came on, the car made some “binging” noises, and then it quit. Thankfully I was able to pull over to the side of the road before I lost my momentum.
So, after a call to CAA, I was able to get the car towed to the nearest garage. They are looking at it right now, so I am hoping that it is an easy fix.
But it usually never is. I guess I will just have to wait and see how things pan out.
There are some weekends where you get nothing accomplished and others where everything goes better than you would have thought.
This past weekend was one of those.
In fact, the weather was so good that I was able to get the rest of the recycling taken care of, cleaned out a room in the basement and even managed to build a snowman with my nieces and nephew.
Sure, I am tired today since I had a busy weekend, but it was productive and fun.
Too bad most weekends are not the same.
